We provide in person and online services. We work with children (aged 3 years+), adolescents, and adults, addressing the following areas:<\/h3>\n

Speech Delays or Articulation Disorders<\/strong> <\/span>– Lisps, \/r\/ therapy, unclear speech\"\"<\/p>\n

Voice<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 Voice hygiene; improving harmful vocal habits affecting speech and singing; rehabilitation of vocal function following an injury. Using the voice more freely and with confidence. Overcoming anxiety and habitual patterns in regards to vocal use. Finding your ‘voice’ which may have been affected by trauma, injury, or personal experiences.<\/p>\n

Stuttering<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Difficulties communicating due to disfluent speech. An individual may have particular emotions\/attitudes associated with their speech and may avoid communicating in some settings.<\/p>\n

Foreign Accent Modification<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 For clients whose first language is not English and who desire to improve their speaking skills for personal or professional reasons.<\/p>\n

Language Delays Related to Learning Disabilities<\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 Among school aged children, this may include difficulties using more complex oral language, difficulties with reading comprehension, limited vocabulary, or delays in storytelling or problem solving.<\/p>\n

Social Skills & Pragmatics<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\u2013 Conversation, social nuances, and navigating peer and interpersonal relationships.<\/p>\n

Parent Consultation, Training, & Counselling<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\u2013 Many parents may benefit from 1:1 or group sessions to explore how to support their child’s language, play, & social development. We can provide sessions either with or without your child, to provide coaching or problem solving. We are trained in both Hanen It Takes Two to Talk<\/em> and More Than Words<\/em> – programs that support parents\/caregivers to facilitate their child’s communication during natural play, routines, and activities. We will help integrate speech and language skills into everyday family life. We are also experienced in home-learning and can support curriculum and family goals.<\/p>\n

Reading Intervention and Executive Functioning<\/strong><\/span> – We have specialized training in intervention for dyslexia and executive functioning challenges. Reading intervention may include (but is not limited to)<\/em> Orton Gillingham Multi-Sensory approaches, language processing remediation, developing concept imagery, expanding written output, and teaching higher level reading comprehension strategies.<\/p>\n

Diagnostic Assessments<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 We can provide detailed and comprehensive speech, voice, and\/or language assessments that can be accompanied by a formal report and recommendations if requested.<\/p>\n
